Generally, mozzies are at their worst on warm, humid evenings when the temp can still be in the mid 20's, especially if you are close to water. I don't think late May should be too bad but I'd be inclined to take some repellant anyway to be safe. My favourite local beer is Mythos, a 5% lager-beer, very tasty and hits the spot.

Just come back from Kos and I'm happy to say my husband and I didn't get bitten at all which is really unusual for us, and I did see some people with lots of bites, I used Repel 100 which is 100% Deet, it's horrible stuff but really works, after the 5th night I stopped using anything and still didn't get.

We had a quick spray on our legs and arms before we went out each night and u have been bitten once the whole holiday.
