Louise Odier is a vigorous, old fashioned shrub rose which produces beautiful very double, camellia-like flowers of bright rose pink. This repeat flowering, very fragrant Bourbon rose is a perfect alternative to Brother Cadfael which we no longer stock.

Dress the top soil with plenty of peat mixed with hop manure and chopped up turf. Fresh animal manure is harmful to the roots and should only be used in the bottom spit. Where possible, prepare the planting site a few weeks in advance. Do this in late summer for planting in autumn. Plant at any time between late autumn and late spring.

Le rosier Louise Odier est remontant par vagues régulières et généreuses de juin jusqu'à octobre. Les fleurs arrivent en solitaires ou en bouquets lâches par 3 à 5. Elles s'ouvrent en coupes de 7 cm de diamètre, composées de 60 à 80 pétales imbriqués et bien rangés en quartiers lors de l'épanouissement.

Louise Odier roses prefer slightly acidic soil with a pH of 5.6 to 6.5. Test the soil and amend with peat moss or aluminum sulfate to lower the pH if necessary.
